Vedam (Telugu-2010)

Cast:- Allu Arjun, Manchu Manoj(guest appearance), Anushka Direction:- Radha Krishna(Krrish)

Vedam-movie-wallpapers1 (1)

Radha Krishna(krrish) is back with a bang. After the tremendous success of gamyam, i thought he would come up with a family entertainer or any other kind but he again hits the box-office with a relationship/humanitarian concept. The dialogues are an asset for the movie-“illu katte vadiki illu, cheppulu kutte vadiki cheppulu undavu kadha sir…alane memu kuda” this made the audience clap in the cinema hall. The screenplay of this movie is just awesome. i just say wow!!! Allu Arjun was so realistic and so was anushka but manoj had a very small role to play and even during titles they describe his role as a guest appearance. The movie is about 5 people of different backgrounds who undergo many weird circumstances and finally meet at the end and fight against some terrorists and in this fight both the hero’s die finally after killing all the terrorists and saving many people. Similarly, krrish tried this in gamyam but there were militants instead of terrorists. The music was a bit bad but the background scores are just awesome. Though it’s not a commercial film, it rocks. The comedy in the film was also great. Finally, this is a good movie to watch and learn how the world is today. But we can’t expect every one to like this movie mainly the rural people as they expect high-current performance from bunny in the form of dance or anything else. There is only one thing  which people talk about in bunny’s movie-dance… but as this movie is a serious film with not much rocking songs, we can’t blame any one. I suggest every one to see this kind of movies and know where we live today.

Simha (Telugu-2010)

Cast:- Balakrishna, Namitha, Sneha Ullal, Nayanatara           Direction:- Boyapati seenu
Simha-Wallpapers
Hmmmm…however many people accept it as a super hit, it lacks the effective story telling and also portrays a lot of violence which is not so favourable for the lady audience of Andhra Pradesh. Balakrishna cracked a hit after a period of approximately 6 years and has made a good comeback into the industry with a new style. The first half is all about violence with too many fights since the beginning and the murder attempt on the hero at the end of first half is very sloppy and is not needed. The dance sequence with the college students and lecturers is very vulgar keeping in the view the dresses of the hero’s students and the way they dance with him. Coming to the second half, the best part of the movie resides here. The flashback scenes are very attractive and depict a new style of balakrishna with powerful dialogues yet again  and account for the success of the movie . The climax fight is not too good or not too bad but leaves an impression on the viewer. If the director could have made a better first half, the movie would have been an all-time hit. The background music given by chinna is too good and the music director chakri delivers good music. The movie didn’t showcase any hi5 stunts like in balakrishna’s previous movies and this had a good impact on the movie results. The director made a very good effort but the result still depends on the other departments. The worst thing in balakrishna’s movies is that his hair style doesn’t change in the whole movie and a lot of make-up on his face which clearly indicates that he is old enough. There is also not much good comedy in the movie. Finally, an average nandamuri fan will surely like this movie but others will not.

Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Dead Man's Chest

Again, this movie is enough to describe the whole pirate's of the Caribbean series. First of all I just have to say I LOVE JOHNNY DEPP!!! The man is terrific. He is a fabulous actor, good-looking, smart, funny, good-looking, talented, ageless, and good-looking. No matter what the situation you could dress him up and take him anywhere (or no where). He is perfect! n he is my friend kittu's favorite actor.
Ok, now on with the review.
Overall I enjoyed this movie. It was full of action-packed scenes where I really felt thrilled and excited. The special effects were great and, like the first, dazzled me. However, it felt much more like a tribute to the first film than a full film in it's own right.
This time around the story follows our three main characters (Keira, Orlando and Johnny) trying to avoid the nasty Davy Jones, his curse, and a giant sea monster. The dialogue was not as catchy as the first movie's, so few lines were truly memorable. The acting was good but often felt more improv-based than actually scripted. At times it felt more like the cast was sharing in a personal joke with the audience than acting. More of a, "Hey remember this guy from the first film, where he is again, say hello," than an actual telling of a story that wasn't truly associated with the first film.
The sea monsters that make up the crew of the Flying Dutchman were, however, some of the most amazing costumes, effects and makeup I have seen in a long, long time (at least since LOTR). The captain who is a combination of crab and octopus was impressive but my favorite was the hammer-head shark guy. He looked downright awful and mean. Loved him! There were plenty of other creatures too that captured your imagination. Infact, I hope to rent the movie when it comes out on dvd just so I am pause it at times and look closely at all the various sea monsters. Again however, none of the special effects can make up for the fact that the overall tone of the movie seemed a bit flat and drawn out. At other times I was edge of the seat, eyes darting everywhere trying to watch it all unfold before me. And at the end, I did find myself going, "Wait, that's it? I want more!" .
Anyway, if you are looking to be entertained and are capable of just sitting back and observing without trying to figure it all out or stress the small stuff, then Pirates 2 is worth the time. However, please note that is very much a sequel - feels like, looks like, and sounds like a sequel - so don't be too dissappointed when you notice the Pirates 1 tributes and such. It is just part of the package.

Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire

This one movie is enough to describe the whole series. But i read all the books after watching this movie and i was disappointed as many important scenes were omitted and some scenes were completely changed. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I may not be 10 years old and I may not own a poster of Daniel Radcliff (the young man who plays Harry in the movies) but I am none the less and huge fan of the books and the movies. This being the case, I have anxiously awaited the newest installment in the movie series Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. By far, this was my favorite book after the last installment. This book, to me was where the series transitioned from children's story to a fictional story to be enjoyed by all, young and old. It was with this excitement (and fear that they would mess up my favorite book) that I entered the theater. From the moment the picture started, I was almost in tears. They had taken everything I had read and translated it perfectly onto the screen. The effects, the storyline, all of it was almost exactly how I imagined it. It was like they had jumped into my brain to get my impressions and then added them to the production. I could almost cry it was that great of an interpretation. Now, it was a huge book that was condensed down to 2 1/2 hours of film, so things were cut from the book. but honestly, they weren't really things you would miss nor that would have aided or helped the plot of the movie much. The basic, overall themes were conveyed and kept nicely with the book.My only complaint is Dumbledore. I have officially decided that I dislike the portaryl done by Michael Gambon. I felt moderately this way in the previous film and I now very resolute in this feeling. Dumbledore is no longer the grandfatherly, kind figure that helped Harry through so much in the original 2 movies. He is now more a severe and "dirty" Dumbledore. I dislike the graying of the beard and hair - they should have left it white. I also dislike the robes he wears now. He looks more like an old hippie or member of ZZtop than the Dumbledore I pictured in the books. It is unfortunate that Richard Harris died and they had to replace Dumbledore, but they should have stuck to the character as it was originally instead of trying to rewrite the role. Dumbledore was always one of my favorite people in the books and I now feel like he is my least favorite on screen. If I had the time I would petition to "age" and "re-regalfy" (meaning bring back the long, regal robes in the first 2 movies) this Dumbledore to the point where I feel like he is the true master and leader of Hogwarts and truly loves and cares for all of it's students. Right now, I am just not feeling that vibe. That complaint aside, this is a must-see movie! The scenes of the Tri-Wizard Tournament alone are worth the price of admission. Young, old, boy, girl - EVERYONE will enjoy this movie.

Hostel

I had been anxiously awaiting this movie, since it right up my alley since Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw and Freddy vs. Jason are among some of my favorite movies. I must say, Hostel did not disappoint. The story focuses on 3 male friends who are travelling through Eurpore and looking for women. Told that the former Soviet block is the place to meet the hottest, most willing babes, the guys head into a life-changing (and in some cases ending) experience.Be warned: This is a slasher flick. There is a lot of violence and gore. However, for the most part, it belongs. Though horrifying, the violence was necessary to tell the story in such a way that you identified with the characters. At no point did I find it too excessive. I admit that I did have to hide my eyes and turn away at times but that is mostly because I am a wimp (though I LOVE these types of movies). This movie is not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. But if you enjoyed Saw, you would enjoy The Hostel. Both are gritty, edgy and willing to explore a side of humanity we all know existence but refuse to acknowledge.

Scary-Movie 4

lets kick start with a comedy...
Though I missed it in the movie theater, I really looked forward to renting and watching Scary Movie 4. I know I may be quite sad, but I actually have enjoyed (mostly) the previous ones. With that same anticipation I sat to watch the fourth installment of this franchise and assumed I be entertained. Well, you know what they say about assumptions...Anna Faris plays Cindy, who discovers she is living in a house haunted by a little boy (ala The Grudge) and tries to search out who he is and why he is harrassing her. Similar to the other Scary Movies the fourth one spoofs many of the recent money makers, as well as some celeberties who have made headlines in the none-too-distant past. However, this time around, most of these spoofs felf forced and even outdated. The third movie introduced a new cast of characters and actors some of who have returned in this fourth movie. Gone are the Wayan brothers who added so much to the comedy and humor of these movies. Anna Faris is terrific and always finds a way to make me laugh, but the rest of the 'gang' leaves a lot to be desired. Faris has amazing comedic talent and is able to keep a straight-face at times when a 'normal' human being would be dying of laughter. Unfortunately, this movie felt completely held together by her and the the rest of the cast did nothing to keep the story flowing. In discussing "how could the movie be better" I would have to say, first and foremost, bring back the original cast or stop making the movies. Simple as that. No one else they have brought into the last two movies are even near the same league, comedically, as Faris and it shows on screen. Increase the budget, write a better script or use blackmail tactics to get the Wayans back to save this franchise, or bury the entire idea. Those are the options I see as to how it could have been improved because the cast used, aside from Anna Faris and Regina Fall (Brenda - another orginal) simply do not have the comedic skills necessary to make this movie, or any future Scary Movie, worth the price of admission. That said, I will be honest, I laughed at times (sometimes very hard) but overall felt rather bored by this movie. However, since I watched the movie I have found myself remembering certain scenes and quotes that have made me laugh more after-the-fact. This past weekend while out with family in Hyderabad, certain situations brought to mind "The Tom Cruise spoof with Orpah" and I would break into spontaneous laughter. Or, as I saw a poster advertising a Mike Tyson fight, I thought of the "Mike Tyson spoof" and had to share the humor with my folks. In short, if you want to laugh-out-loud or roll in the isles, don't watch Scary Movie 4. But if you liked the others and need a little 'lasting' humor to get you through the days, give it a watch, something will certainly stick with you and give you cause to chuckle, just don't expect too much. All in all, I would have to give Scary Movie 4 an overall rating of 3 outta 5.
